Eating too much milk at the age of adolescence may be linked to prostate cancer
The researchers found that older men who remember the Icelanders that they were drinking milk at the age of adolescence frequently at risk of prostate cancer with the progress of Alamrbnsph three-fold compared with people who drink milk in moderation.

This made them wonder whether the period at the age of puberty affect, where the prostate gland that mature in that period, so the more vulnerable and susceptible to cancer.
Joanna said Torvdotor nurture a scientist and a student at the Graduate School at the University of Iceland, told Reuters: "We believe that our data are in fact correct, and provide important evidence of the role of adolescence as a" sensitive period "for the development of prostate cancer."
She added, "We remain cautious in Tvsa tumor is to us." And "reasons for extraction does not rely on one study, and therefore there is a need for more studies to confirm our findings and to explore the possible mechanism behind this association."
She added that so far, I have found two studies conducted on prostate cancer and the amount of milk in adolescents to different conclusions and different and contradictory - the study found that milk apparently to some extent that it protects from the disease, while the other study found no link at all.
Torvdotor said that both studies are small, and can not distinguish between the tumors developed and the early stages of it.
But Iceland offers something definitive "study of the work and the experience of a scientific nature."
People tend to drink milk in the rural areas that lack the infrastructure in the early twentieth century, and this was the central regions of the island include a lot of milk from the farm Hjulnat, while the lack of availability of coastal villages milk was rarely drink milk.
The researchers used data for the study of more than 2200 men born between 1907 and 1937. The men were part of a medical study begun in 1960, and in early 2000, responded to questions about their diet early in life, and the period of mid-life where she was part of another study.
Among men, 463 men had been drinking milk less than once a day at the age of adolescence, and one percent of them were wounded or died of prostate cancer from the disease in more than a quarter of a century of follow-up.
This figure is three percent of the more than 1800 men who said they drank milk at least once a day at the stage of adolescence.
Can not explain this gap in terms of the number of people visits to the doctor to do medical examinations, and the degree of education among people, or eating certain foods such as fish and meat.
Found that how much they drink milk from a man not related to the risk of tumors in the carry-over early. And milk intake in middle age, with studies focused on this age group, the results are not clear about that, too.
Torvdotor said that there are many physiological mechanisms, may in principle explain the link between drinking milk and cancer, if any. But at this point, each of whom shall return to guess.
"The basis of these data alone we can not recommend that teenage boys should be eating habits do not risk it." "We are looking only at the risk of one disease, and cancer of the prostate, and the risks it is clear that they have other conditions, such as bone health, it must be seen."
Things that may be premature to determine the relationship of prostate cancer, drinking milk.
And approved by Dr. Matthew Koprberg, urologist at the University of California at San Francisco.
"It would be premature to say that drinking milk causes prostate cancer," he told Reuters. "You can talk about things that are related to this, but it is difficult to prove causality."
He added that people should not be linked to drink milk with anything else.
Koprberg said that "there are many health benefits of drinking milk at the age of adolescence."
Conjecture Torvdottir tips food, noting that "it is important to have a balanced diet and moderate consumption of milk is a part of it."
